HDL-Jam is a powerful, grid-based step sequencer designed for collaboration. Create beats, loops, and synth lines on the go, then pass the project to a friend to add their layer.

Subtractive synthesis engine with filters, resonant LFOs, and rich waveforms (Saw, Square, Triangle, Sine).

Polyrhythms

Break the 4/4 grid. Set individual step counts per track (e.g., 7 steps vs 16 steps) for evolving, complex grooves.

Turn-Based Jamming

Integrated with Game Center. Start a track, finish your turn, and send it to a friend's device instantly.

Getting Started

Select a Track

Tap any track header to select it. Each track has its own synth sound and sequence.

Place Your Notes

Tap steps in the grid to toggle notes on/off. Use the piano keyboard to select the pitch before placing.

Hit Play

Press the Play button 🟢 to hear your loop. Adjust BPM in settings ⚙️.

Pass It On

Finish your turn and pass the device (or send via Game Center) to let a friend add the next layer.

Tips & Tricks

Live Recording

Hit the Record Button to punch in notes live. The loop automatically wraps, so you can layer beats seamlessly without stopping.

Octave Shift

Use the keypad arrows to shift octaves up or down to find the perfect bassline or lead range.

Play in Background

HDL-Jam keeps playing even if you lock your phone, so you can jam while walking or multitasking.
